About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial data to inform business decisions. Responsibilities: Accounting Tasks: Recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions. Preparing and recording entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses. Reconciling financial statements and trial balance accounts. Financial reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Summarizing financial status and reporting costs, margins, expenditures, and productivity. Financial Analysis: Reviewing financial data to make forecasting decisions. Analyzing financial statements for discrepancies and other issues. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company-wide accounting policies and procedures. Auditing: Participating in external audits, working with external auditors and preparing work papers. Coordinating semi-annual audits. Work Process Improvement: Proven track record in improving financial and business work processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Experience in accounting or related field Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards Experience with accounting systems and software Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Experience with financial audit processes Understanding of Grant Accounting and State of CT funding is a plus We are an Equal Opportunity Employer , celebrate diversity, and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
