Position Type: Technology/Computer Technician Date Posted: 9/30/2024 Location: SOUTHMONT CENTRAL OFFICE Summary: The IT Support Technician functions as part of the district technology services department reporting to the Director of Technology and will primarily serve as point of contact for staff in the buildings for Tier I technology-based needs. The support technician will work closely with the technology team to service staff and students to ensure reliability of all systems, solutions to technical issues, and growth of technology at Southmont Schools. This position is a full time hourly 12-month position and is a non-certified benefited position. We are looking to find the perfect person to complete our technology team. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Provide direct hardware and software support to end users of Microsoft Windows and Google. Chromebooks, and View Sonic Boards, including all staff and students Collaborate with classroom teachers concerning electronic testing (ILEARN, IREADY, etc.) and help them with the testing technology Collaborate with the technology team to support the learning environment and maintain a high quality of service Distribute, troubleshoot, schedule, repair, and maintain corporation owned staff and student devices according to all district, department, and school policies and procedures, and as training/abilities allow Maintain proper paperwork and documentation associated with the collections, distribution, return, repair, and loss of devices Equipment Inventory Provide support for audio/video systems Address Tier I tech support requests Work with students and staff to enable efficiency and knowledge with district technology Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Technology Director and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Equipment Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. All other equipment listed for the technology department. Travel Requirements Will travel to all buildings in the district and professional meetings as required. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite Products Knowledge and/or experience with Google Knowledge and/or experience with Chromebooks Knowledge and/or experience with projectors and large screens displays audio video stems and the associated cabling Exceptional Communication and Customer Service Skills Enthusiasm for working with and supporting students & staff Ability to maintain confidentiality of students and information regarding students Ability to troubleshoot difficult situations and develop a network of support when needed Willingness to work outside regular schedule as necessary for special projects events Eagerness and willingness to learn and grow in all areas of technology and technology support Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency Experience: Successful prior experience is a plus, but not a must for this position. The candidate must be willing to dive in, learn, and be trained to complete the above tasks where they do not have experience.
