Tax Manager - Commercial Business

A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their growing team in Tax Manager. Responsibilities: The Tax Manager will: Manage staff on engagement deliverables (such as financial statements, tax returns, work papers, etc.) Complete technical and strategic reviews as a member of the final engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on time delivery and on budget Handle all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc. Assist with new client development in partnership with upper management Participate in client meetings, presentations and proposal development and meet individual cross serve Manage and retain multiple client relationships, engagements and special projects Develop overall engagement budget Handle billing and realization on assigned clients and explain variances Supervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in Public Accounting or related field Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, CPA or parts passed Knowledge of pass through Entities and Individual Tax Previous experience in a Supervisory role Microsoft Excel proficient Solid analytical and mathematical skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized
