Overview: Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating month-end close, reconciling G/L accounts, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, tax, and other related accounting and tax matters. Supervise and delegate work to staff accountant(s). Assist in preparing financial statements, royalty, profitability, and performance analysis. Responsibilities: Manage month-end close and maintain G/L accounts Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis for leadership team Be a primary manager of Quickbooks or new ERP system Recording and Categorizing Expenses: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all expenses and categorizing them appropriately. Maintain accounting policies and procedures and update as needed Perform month-end ledger account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances in ledger accounts Manage monthly expense accrual calculations primarily relating to accruals for goods and services received but not invoiced Process operational transactions with a high level of accuracy - including but not limited to bank reconciliation, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and leases Prepare corporation income tax schedules annually Support improvements in our accounting dept. such as accounting controls, audit trails and efficiency of recurring processes Perform various ad hoc projects as requested Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent At least 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in accounting Understanding of accounting principles Proficient in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel Experience in QuickBooks or other major accounting system (e.g. NetSuite, Intacct) Team player with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively Meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve financial issues promptly Good follow up skills, detail oriented, and well organized.
