The role of an HVAC Service Technician is to offer complete repair and upgrade services for various heating and colling systems in residential settings, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, fan coils, and thermostats. What You'll Do: Diagnose the cause of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair or replacement needs. Inspect HVAC systems and their components (e.g., heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance. Install heating and air conditioning equipment and systems to provide enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities. Perform routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems. Repair heating and air conditioning systems and components (e.g., pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.). Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability and safe operating condition. Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned to gather information required to perform or enhance job functions. Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, work orders, etc.) for customers as well as supervisors to document job status. Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required for installation and repair. Coordinate with other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. Qualifications What You'll Bring: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Currently attending or graduated from an HVAC training program. Ability to troubleshoot and repair residential HVAC equipment in an efficient and professional manner. Commitment to safely use all hand and power tools and must have solid interpersonal and customer service skills. Safety and customer service oriented. Fluent English speaking and writing skills. Organized and detail oriented. Able to work irregular and extended hours, including an on-call schedule. Driving Requirements Must have a valid Virginia driver's license. Must have positive points on state driving record. Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted. Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years. All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team. Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Not everyone may fulfill all the requirements listed here.
