Reads job order and mounts specified plate and printing anilox's. Trains operators on how to read job order, mount plates, and properly care for anilox's. Starts press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of printing plate as necessary. May mix inks to produce desired colors. Works closely with ink reps and other partners that support the printing operation. Responsible employee training, lead op training, and back-up for absent employees. Works closely with CSR's and R&D quoting new product. Responsible to meet shift production goals in relation to quality, changeovers, rate, and scrap. Ensure necessary supplies are on-hand at all times. Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Place on hold products outside of specifications. Work closely with printing supervisor and quality team. Communicate well with other shift Supervisors, Printing Manager, and Plant Manager. Promote a clean and safe work area. Assist in production as necessary including operating machinery and forklifts if needed. Complies with all AIB and BRC Standards and Operation Procedures Coaches team members to be motivated and engaged for achievement of efficiency and accuracy targets. Act as a Change Agent by modeling desired behaviors, promoting two-way communication, sharing best practices, serving as the first point of conflict resolution on process questions, and cultivating a culture of feedback between team members and management. Trains, evaluates, and develops team members. Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed. Ensures all safety guidelines and expectations are followed. On call as needed outside of normal working hours for print press troubleshooting. Other duties assigned by management. A strong Printing Process Engineer will possess : Associates degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education, or work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, Flexographic printing industry preferred. A history of great attendance and the flexibility to work any shift. Demonstrated skill in organizing work, setting priorities and sound decision making. Deals effectively with company personnel on all levels ranging from production to top management. Computer and database application skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively in a team environment.
