Title: Fleet Asset Manager (FAM) State Role Title: Equipment Service Repair Mgr II Hiring Range: $72,807.00-$95,790.00 Pay Band: 5 Agency: Department of Forestry Location: Charlottesville, Nat Resrcs Dr Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Forestry's (DOF) mission is to protect and develop healthy, sustainable forest resources for Virginians. The DOF is seeking to hire a Fleet Asset Manager (FAM) in our Administration Divison, reporting to the Facilities Manager. The FAM will have advanced level responsibilities that focus on intermediate to long range program activities that affect program and services development, planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation. This position will serve as the agency's transportation officer, primary surplus officer, asset/inventory officer, manage and oversee the DOF Headquarters mechanic shop and will support the participation in the Federal Excess Personal Property and Firefighting Property (FEPP) Review program. Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of organizational practices and procedures, including use of personal computer, Microsoft Office applications, general office application software, and other standard office equipment. Administrative skills needed to prepare accurate and professional correspondence and reports, respond to the public in a professional manner, and communicate effectively with agency staff. Ability to work well with and through others to maintain a friendly, productive, and efficient office environment. Extensive knowledge of fleet management principles and practices, including the ability to identify agency's fleet needs and recommending appropriate equipment, along with creating the specifications for heavy trucks and vehicles. Extensive knowledge of automotive and heavy equipment repair and maintenance, including service management, maintenance shop practices and procedures. Experience in managing a medium size fleet program, including a fleet lease program and fleet safety program. Knowledge of surplus property management processes, maintenance of accurate surplus records, including the preparation of surplus reports. Knowledge of asset and inventory management, including developing and updating agency policies and procedures and internal agency controls. Additional Considerations Virginia Contracting Associate Officer (VCA) Certification through the Department of General Services (DGS).
