Location BBC Bronson Battle Creek Title Child Advocacy Program Supervisor Coordinates the Child Advocacy Program, supervise the CAC staff, interview teams, and the community multi-disciplinary team; provides community education about program services and the issue of sexual assault/abuse; and provides forensic interviews for children at the CAC site; provides counseling to sexual assault survivors. Master's degree in Human Services or related field and 2 years working with sexual assault required. MSW preferred. The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects. Advise management on issues relating to the participation of Team member agencies involved in CAC activities. Supervise daily activities of the Child Advocacy Center family advocate and the forensic interview specialist. Manage and supervise CAC operations at 2 sites; Bronson Battle Creek and Marshall location. Supervise intake functions for all clients and their families and assist with consults to community professionals. Develop and maintain policies, procedures and protocols for adherence to National Children's Alliance accreditation. Participate in development of the CAC program budget within the SAS department budget, to ensure sufficient funding for CAC services. Ensure that interviews are conducted with a focus on the child using the approved Child Abuse Protocol and State of Michigan forensic interviewing protocol. Supervise provision of case management for each child and family to ensure that all necessary services are delivered in an appropriate and timely manner, without duplication. Document all services provided to clients according to the CAC requirements as well as maintain accurate and current case management files and records. Manage and supervise Team meetings including case review and peer review meetings. Develop and modify office procedures, protocol, and inter-agency communications as needed and with final approval of the SAS Program Manager. Represent the Child Advocacy Center at public appearances, association meetings and community events. Assist with organizing and/or providing orientation and training experiences for the community and CAC Team/staff. Review professional literature and provide current information on child abuse to clients, Team members, and the community. Supervise screening, scheduling, training and activities for support staff and volunteers working at the CAC. Provide services as a forensic interviewer when necessary. Provide counseling services to survivors of sexual abuse. Serve as mental health representative of the multi-disciplinary team at forensic interviews. Assist with clerical duties, such as answering the phone, typing, filing, mailing, correspondence, meeting notices, etc. as needed. Work a flexible schedule as required by responsibilities of the position, including after normal business hours for acute cases of child abuse. Attend training for forensic interviewing, and serve as interviewer when necessary. Ensure maintenance of National Children's Alliance accreditation standards for the CAC, thus assuring funding. Maintain and strengthen working relationships with relevant community agencies. Engage in public speaking and community education presentations. Project a positive image of the SAS program and present a mature, professional demeanor when making community contacts. Observe confidentiality policy regarding all client and agency information, as well as child abuse and other reporting mandates. Keep informed of relevant policies and procedures, community resources, and other information and data related to the provision of quality sexual assault and abuse services. Adhere to the policies and procedures of SAS and Bronson Battle Creek. Demonstrates commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a manner that is reflective of our mission, values, and customer service standards. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Compliance Accountability Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. Maintains a safe workplace by keeping work area free of hazards and correcting and/or properly reporting any safety hazards. Uses correct body positioning, proper body mechanics to avoid injury, utilizes safe work practices (e.g. pushing vs. pulling, patient transfer/lifting devices, etc.) and uses personal protective equipment when necessary. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Compliance Accountability Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
