Materials Manager

Materials Manager Sterling Heights, MI We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Manager to oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials for our company. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics. This position oversees two facilities in Sterling Heights, MI. Responsibilities: Develop and implement inventory management procedures to ensure adequate stock levels Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection and negotiation Manage the storage and distribution of materials, ensuring timely delivery to production teams Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders as needed to prevent stockouts or excess inventory Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs and plan accordingly Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards Manage a team of materials handlers and warehouse personnel Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs Requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field 5+ years of experience in materials management or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Ability to lead and motivate a team Knowledge of safety and quality standards Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
