We are currently seeking an Accounting and Payroll Analyst to join our awesome finance team in any of our four locations. NAC Architecture is a national firm with four offices located in Los Angeles, Seattle, Spokane and our newly acquired office in Columbus, Ohio. Summary Responsible for the preparation and disbursement of the monthly and semi-monthly payroll in a multi-state environment. Also responsible for assisting in month-end and year-end close and other financial accounting tasks. Requirements Essential Functions: Payroll Functions: • Reviews, approves, and posts employee timesheets weekly or as directed. Directly follows up and resolved issues with employees, supervisors and managers regarding discrepancies in time sheets. • Coordinates with Human Resources to compile payroll data such as employee changes, new hires and payroll deductions. • Execute multiple payroll runs each month within established timelines with accuracy and within desired company structure. • Ensure timely and accurate submissions of payroll tax payments/returns, benefit fundings in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. • Support payroll system administration needs, i.e. setting up new tax jurisdictions, new earning, deduction codes, enhanced reporting, etc. • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts on desired timelines. • Prepare and support compensation analysis and reporting for company, as needed. • Maintains current and ongoing knowledge of industry trends and uses that knowledge to determine most effective ways of meeting business needs. Accounting Functions: • Contribute to various monthly, quarterly and annual close tasks and reporting needs. • Assist in the ongoing analysis of financial performance for the company. Risk Management: • Assist in insurance, benefit, tax applications and audits as needed. • Adhere to and contribute to the creation of process documentation and training materials for the payroll and accounting duties. • Other risk management tasks as assigned. Competencies: • Experience with Paylocity, ADP or other third-party payroll services required. • Experience in an A/E firm or professional services environment a plus. • Experience with month-end and year-end processes and analysis. • Advanced computer skills, including Excel; proficient in other MS Office applications. • Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills. • Exceptional attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to maintain confidential records and information Certification Requirements • None Supervisory Requirements • None Work Environment • This position operates in a professional open office environment with low to moderate noise levels including collaborative work areas for team meetings. Each office provides collaborative work areas and shared resources such as video conferencing, printing/scanning, and a café for dining.
