Moffatt & Nichol's Baltimore, MD office is seeking a Project Manager with a Marine/Waterfront Structural background to provide engineering, planning, design, and analysis activities for waterfront, port and maritime infrastructure projects. The successful new hire will be responsible for managing and implementing all phases of design for a broad range of marine infrastructure projects, including large marine terminals, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, piers, breakwaters, shore protection, and storm/flood resiliency structures. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 15 years of experience working from conceptual development through the details of the design process. This position will be client facing and will also be a part of the business development team for this growing office. Project management Coordinate structural design with staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets Development of contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications Production of schematic and detailed designs and evaluation of planning and concept alternatives Preparation of design reports Preparation of proposals and direct interface with clients and agencies Perform periodic site visits and attend client meetings Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Mentoring of entry-level and junior staff Participating in office business development strategy and implementation Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required; Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred 8 to 15 years of structural design experience including waterfront and marine environments Professional Engineer licensure in Maryland or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire Project management experience. Experience with waterfront infrastructure projects highly desired Proficient in use of structural analysis software, such as SAP2000 Experience effectively interacting with staff, vendors, clients and agencies Strong communication skills both written and verbal Willingness and availability to travel approximately 25% Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) or eligibility to obtain Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) certification in the Port Engineering category preferred All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire Physical requirements: Majority of work is office based.
