-Hybrid -3 days in and 3 days out Location : New York, NY Reports To: Senior Business Development Manager Department Purpose and Structure: Client is a global leader in corporate advisory services, operating in over 40 countries. Our work spans public takeovers, private M&A, equity capital markets, private equity, joint ventures, commercial partnerships, disposals, and corporate reorganizations. The New York Corporate team is at the forefront of the industry, working with successful companies, commercial and investment banks, and private equity firms. The team covers specialist areas such as antitrust and competition, commercial, employment and benefits, environmental, intellectual property, tax, and corporate governance. Role Purpose: The Business Development Manager will be the primary point of contact, providing day-to-day business development support for New York Corporate partners. The role involves overseeing key initiatives for the M&A and Private Equity practices, contributing to practice strategy, pitches, market research, and PR. Key Relationships: Senior Manager (based in Boston), US Transactional practices ll partners and fee earners in the US Corporate Group (based in New York, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco) US business development team Role and Responsibilities: Pitches, Proposals, and Credentials: Collaborate with attorneys to create and manage competitive proposals, credentials, pitches, and presentations. Practice Strategy, Planning, and Execution: Work closely with attorneys to develop and implement business development strategy and plans. Lateral Integration: Collaborate with the Senior Manager, US Transactional Practices to onboard and integrate lateral hires into the practice and global network. Horizon Scanning: Develop a deep understanding of key practice sectors to identify market trends and highlight practice and client opportunities. Cross-Practice & Cross-Office Integration: Coordinate existing projects and develop new opportunities by leveraging the firm's international partner and business development network. Marketing Processes Management: Develop and maintain effective marketing processes for assigned groups, including up-to-date bios and photographs of attorneys, fresh content for the external website, etc. Collaboration: Collaborate and integrate with other parts of the firm, especially the global Client Relationship Management team and global Corporate Client team. Client Events: Plan and run client and charity events and seminars in coordination with the US client events coordinator. Sponsorships: Coordinate and attend firm sponsorships of conferences throughout the year, targeting speaker opportunities, coordinating materials and speakers, and conducting event follow-up. Deal Lists: Maintain an up-to-date "master " list of deals and share relevant information with internal groups and externally managed databases and league tables. Profile/PR: Work with the Senior Manager, US Transactional Practices and external PR agency to maintain effective press coverage on major deals and market developments. Draft submissions for directories. Team: This position reports directly to a Senior Business Development Manager and collaborates closely with other members of the US business development/marketing team and the global community. The Business Development Manager will provide direct support to junior members of the US Corporate business development team and serve as a mentor. Key Requirements: t least 5 years of professional services experience in a high-profile, fast-paced environment. Experience in a complex organization, such as a significant law firm or large professional services environment. Demonstrable track record of helping to grow a practice group. self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and drive forward multiple projects. Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm to develop an in-depth understanding of markets in which practice areas operate. High attention to detail and strong client focus. Bachelor's degree required.
