Position Description: The Credit Strategy Analyst - Data Scientist will be responsible for credit risk strategy development supporting profitable growth of the SME loan. The person, under manager's supervision, will develop/optimize, implement, and monitor credit strategy to ensure loan originations achieve risk performance targets using advanced statistical/machine learning techniques and tools. Major Areas of Responsibility: Develop and optimize risk credit strategies including risk rating, loan amount and loan term restriction, policy decline and review rules, etc, to achieve risk performance targets; and provide accurate strategy impact estimations. Execute all key steps of the strategy development, including problem identification, data preparation, data analysis, strategy proposal, and impact analysis. Work closely with various stakeholders in product/engineering/decision sciences/credit operations/partnership, for strategy implementation, application process optimization, and for channel specific optimizations, etc. Design and generate strategy monitoring reports on a regular basis. Conduct comprehensive analysis to identify emerging performance trends and recommendations. Monitor macroeconomic indicators; develop macroeconomic stress scenarios for stress-testing the proposed credit strategy. Explore new data sources using banking transactions, financial data, and other data sources; Perform in-depth analysis on bank statements and business tax returns to better assess the creditworthiness of SME applications. Create comprehensive presentations with clear logic and structure, and effectively communicate strategic insights and recommendations to business partners and leadership. Education and Experience: Strong analytical background with data driven decisioning mindset Excellent communication skills to explain complex problems/ideas to wider audiences 2+ years' credit risk strategy experience in unsecured lending industry preferred Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative driven field is preferred Working experience and proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Tableau or other BI Tools, and Excel (Advanced) United States, Remote, Base salary range of: $100,000 - $130,000 + benefits Conclusion: This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
