Analyst, Development Services Department: Resource Development Location: Metropolitan Campus Reports To: Executive Director, Development Services Recruitment Type: External/Internal Requisition ID: req5631 Employment Type: Administration and Professionals Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:00 PM Number of Openings: 1 Job Description: SUMMARY Responsible for contributing to theachievement of strategic departmental goals by accurately and proactivelyupdating, analyzing, maintaining, and reporting fundraising research data. Supports departmental prospect research,fiscal stewardship and e-communications efforts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Proactively updates, analyzes and maintains related data in alignment with departmental funding strategies Contributes to the development and execution of research and evaluation of data, including report design, implementation, analysis and presentation Effectively uses the College's fundraising database software (Raiser's Edge) for fundraising research and informing fundraising strategies Serves as primary point of contact for a variety of technological tools and resources to advance the department Serves as a technical resource to support data-based decision making Assists with the development of data requests in collaboration with departmental leadership, staff, as well as external constituents Ensures the accuracy and relevance of data as it relates to projects, endowed funds and initiatives Proactively scans all available data and compiles strategic information regarding funding opportunities, prospective donors and donor engagement References historical trends and compares to current data in an effort to identify and recommend impactful and appropriate funding opportunities Supports departmental efforts to document processes and recommend improvements Serves as the departmental back-up in the management of the College's accounting software (Financial Edge) Assists in the preparation of related information for grant and gift compliance, and fiscal audits Responsible for coordinating the timely distribution of mass e-communications and e-appeals Independently produces accurate and timely work products under strict deadlines Performsother duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Bachelor's Degree Significant related experience may substitute for education Minimum of five years of demonstrated data analysis experience Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the strategy, management and operations within a department Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Possess working knowledge of data analysis concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Possess strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently Intermediate-level project management skills Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population COMPETENCIES CRITICAL COMPETENCIES Service Focus Quality of Work Time Utilization VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES Collaboration Continuous Improvement IMPORTANTCOMPETENCIES Communication Adaptability PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Demonstrated experience executing e-communications for the non-profit sector Demonstrated experience using the Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, Banner, and Constant Contact platforms Demonstrated experience in a higher education environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (The demands described here are representative of those that must be metby an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; Work may also requirewalking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetingsand conferences away from the worksite Special Note: Target Starting Salary Range: $63,375 to $66,625 The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
