Investment Analyst

Derby Copeland Capital is a private equity firm that was founded in 2015 and has established itself as one of New York City's most trusted private middle-market real estate investors. We originate, own, and service first mortgages, mezzanine loans, preferred equity and direct equity investments that are tailored to each counterparty's unique specifications. We approach each potential transaction with an established, consistent, and comprehensive due diligence approach that closely analyzes the market, asset and borrower. We also operate a direct equity investment business that is vertically integrated with a wholly owned property management affiliate and a construction arm. This position requires the candidate to be in the office five days a week and is not available as a remote or hybrid role. A candidate Responsibilities Analyze loan and equity requests Underwrite and value real estate by producing property level financial models (predominantly through excel and Argus) Use excel to analyze property cash flows and evaluate key lending metrics such as DSCR, debt yield, and loan to values. Compile data to support underwriting and asset management Review all loan application documentation and property data Coordinate required diligence items with third party vendors Work collaboratively with team members Update existing investment models  Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or accounting One Year + of experience as an analyst or private equity/real estate investment role preferred Basic knowledge of commercial real estate fundamentals and commercial lending Skilled in Microsoft Excel with the ability to build models and work with data sets. Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Elite organization skills Expected annual base salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 The actual base salary that falls within that wide range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the applicant's working experience, skills, and qualifications.  Additional compensation: The advertised base salary range is not inclusive of other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
