LEAD SOFTWARE ENGINEER AI AGENT STARTUP REMOTE (UNITED STATES) $130,000 - $150,000 + EQUITY THE COMPANY We are partnering with an early-stage AI startup, that is developing an AI agent to automate inbound sales tasks. Their innovative AI agent helps sales teams by building rapport with customers, streamlining the sales process, and eliminating administrative busywork. The company is poised for global growth and currently has a small, dedicated team of six people. THE ROLE - Lead Software Engineer As the Lead Software Engineer, you will work directly with the CEO and Head of Engineering to develop and scale the AI chatbot. You'll be responsible for backend-heavy full stack development, focusing on enhancing the AI agent's capabilities. Responsibilities include: Leading engineering efforts for scaling the AI platform Implement scalable solutions using Python and TypeScript, leveraging cloud services such as AWS and GCP Focusing on backend development while contributing to full stack projects Collaborating with a small, dynamic team to drive product development Reporting directly to the CEO SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Commercial software engineering experience Strong full stack development skills, with a focus on backend technologies Proficiency in Python, Typescript, React, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes Experience working in a startup environment (taking projects from 0-1) Machine learning experience is a plus, but not required THE BENEFITS This fully remote role offers a competitive salary of $150,000 and equity, with potential for higher equity based on seniority. While the role is currently remote, the company prefers candidates based in the NYC area, as it may eventually transition to hybrid or onsite.
