Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Senior Copywriter (SC) is responsible for generating ideas for advertising and promotional copy, developing texts from draft stage through finished product. The SC works closely with creative and account teams to ensure adherence to client's marketing strategies and objectives within specified deadlines. The SC supervises junior writers on projects and works with a Senior Art Director in partnership to generate concepts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Copywriting Write in a clear and concise manner while maintaining quality control by adhering to clarity, proper grammar, agency process, client referencing and legal requirements Creation and Execution Develop smart, single-minded ideas that are on strategy. Works collaboratively with creative and account partners. Direct members of staff to ensure proper production of campaign elements. Strategic Thinking Understand marketing plans including objectives and strategies and how success will be measured. Participate in strategic and tactical meetings and contribute innovative ideas, tactics, and copy appropriate to the client marketing strategy. Relationship Management Coordinates creative materials across other disciplines Business Management Possess working knowledge of product challenges in relation to overall market Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate and communicate with team members in a productive manner to ensure goals are being met and to attain/maintain creative vision outlined for the agency JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Thinking: * Participate in strategic and tactical meetings internally and with client to develop campaigns reflecting client objectives. * Conceive and develop creative materials for product. * Participate in brainstorming meetings and med/legal meetings. * Possess a complete understanding of market trends and marketing briefs. Execution: * Review and edit all copy for clarity and proper grammar and punctuation. * Present concepts at presentations in a organized, professional, and effective style. * Follow copy through agency process on all pieces. Relationship Management: * Attend client creative presentations as circumstances allow. * Participate in status meetings. * Communicate with art, producers, and editorial to ensure smooth flow of jobs to meet deadlines. * Work with Medical Directors to ensure verification of facts and claims. * Supervise junior creatives and provide copy direction and support. Business Management: * Understand the target audience and adjust copy as required. * Partner with account to solve problems. * Establish rapport with client. * Demonstrates full understanding of Vantage/billing processes and timely reporting of hours. The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
