The Cemetery Memorial Specialist & Bookkeeper will learn the basics of our cemetery and work closely with customers to help design meaningful monuments and memorials, in addition to managing the logistics of ordering and shipping of all memorials and completing operational bookkeeping tasks. This is a full-time position during which 80% of time will be spent supporting monument clients and 20% will include the bookkeeping-oriented work. Essential Functions: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the cemetery's monument offerings and policies. Conduct personalized consultations with families at NCC and other parish cemeteries which NCC has a sales relationship with. Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients. Collaborate with co-workers to develop and implement sales strategies, campaigns, and promotional materials to enhance memorials sales. Maintain accurate and organized records of memorials throughout the production process. Correspond with suppliers and maintain the production and shipping schedule to insure the timely installation of memorials. Schedule installation of memorials at local parish cemeteries as well as New Cathedral Cemetery with installation crews or third-party providers. Provide the best customer service possible with compassion. Stay current with industry trends to ensure the most relatable offerings to clients Provide accurate bookkeeping records in Quickbooks for the entire cemetery. Knowledge of Quickbooks is required. Support the annual financial audit and quarterly board meetings with financial reports. Position Qualifications: Being Catholic is not required however understanding our faith is a positive. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in sales, business, quickbooks, or related fields is a plus. Experience in outside sales, customer service or sales roles preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Empathetic and compassionate approach when dealing with clients during sensitive times. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Customer service mindset while presenting options and information is a must Basic understanding of cemetery offerings is a plus but not necessary Knowledge of Quickbooks is required with experience of normal accounting practices
