The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for supporting the Plant Manager in ensuring the waste-water pretreatment plant runs safely and efficiently. The plant is highly sophisticated with an automated process control system. The Assistant Plant Manager may be responsible for providing direction, training, and supervision of personnel working in the facility. The Assistant Plant Manager may be responsible for ensuring all equipment is well maintained and all material and chemical inventory is properly stocked and handled. The Assistant Plant Manager may be responsible for quality control, conformance with environmental regulations, and any other aspects of government contract performance. The Assistant Plant Manager works directly under the supervision of the Plant Manager and is assisted in this role by an administrative assistant and Maintenance Manager. The Assistant Plant Manager will need to possess: High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate. Four (4) years as an assistant plant manager or five (5) years as an industrial wastewater pretreatment plant supervisor. Have demonstrated capabilities in coordinating work, troubleshooting issues, supervising and managing personnel, providing timely and prudent direction and guidance in the operation of an industrial wastewater pretreatment plant. Have strong communication and writing skills. Shall be knowledgeable in how to use Human-Machine Interface (HMI)/ SCADA software which operates the applicable portions of the Plant. This software is run on various computer(s) that are located in the Plant office and in the plants. S hall hold a current Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) Class III or higher Wastewater Treatment or equivalent certification or be able to obtain prior to starting. Shall be fluent in the English language both verbally and written and be able to read and understand English. Shall be U.S. citizen Shall be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel Working Environment & Conditions This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
