Who we are, Finance Department:Ready Rebound is seeking passionate individuals to join our Finance Department. This team is a crucial component of Ready Rebound and critical for building long-term relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving the intended outcomes of our Ready Rebound services for First Responders across the country. About the Senior Accountant role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of demonstrating grit and integrity in their professional history and will show a keen interest in growing professionally through their contributions to a focused team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing basic support for HR billing functions, while supporting the companys strategic expansion into new territories. Key Responsibilities: Anticipated Time Balance: 75% Accounting, 25% HR Accounting Functions: 75% Time BalanceMonth-End Close: Manage the month-end close processes under Controller oversight. The expectation is that the Senior Accountant will be capable of handling the month-end close processes largely independently, once familiar with our processes and following the coaching provided by the Controller. Rhythmic Reporting: Prepare highly accurate monthly reporting packages for review. Bill and Expense Management: Manage Accounts Payable, Card Management, and Expense Management, ensuring accurate general ledger and business reporting. Business Administration Topics: Provide administrative support to Finance and HR. Tax Obligations: Research and determine state and local tax (SALT) obligations for Ready Rebound in both existing and new territories as the business expands its operations. This includes staying ahead of changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company. Business License Management: Work with the VP of Contracts and Special Projects to manage the business license requirements of Ready Rebound, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and timely renewals. Accounting Policy Recommendations: Conduct thorough research, provide clear explanations, and document accounting policy decisions to ensure compliance and support business operations. Prepare/lead Monthly and Quarterly and year-end payroll, HR and financial reporting activities, including accruals, audit preparations, T4s, and other statutory reporting requirements. Human Resources Functions: 25% Time BalanceWorking closely with the Head of HR to administer benefit programs, including health, supplemental and retirement plans, and support the annual review of benefit providers. Payroll Compliance: Support the implementation of internal policies to ensure compliance with applicable legislation pertaining to benefits and payroll. Work with third parties ensuring compliance with applicable state and local regulations. Develop and maintain relationships with external benefit and payroll advisors/consultants/tax experts. Liaise with government agencies and applicable Revenue agencies (IRS, UI) in matters pertaining to payroll, taxation, unemployment, benefits and retirement accounts. Support Benefit administration (adds, terms, and changes) to ensure benefit monthly invoicing is accurate. Draft/Review/Revise policies and procedures ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.Requirements and Minimum Experience:Experience: Minimum of 2 years of operational accounting experience in corporate or public accounting. Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPAs are strongly preferred. Skills and Competencies: In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.Experience working on month-end close and reconciliation processes.Strong attention to detail and high integrity.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for work across departments.Experience successfully partnering with Finance to support forecasting and planning activities a plus.Proficiency in financial systems such as QuickBooks and . Prior experience with these or similar systems is preferred.
