Financial Planning and Analysis Accountant (New York, NY) Glencore is a natural resource energy trading company. Our back office supports our US trading and operations staff. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for monthly Expense Reports that provide detailed analytics and substantiation (including full year projections and variance commentary) Responsible for monthly Balance Sheet Reports that provide detailed analytics and substantiation (including full year projections and variance commentary) Budget reporting and analysis Desk Profitability Analysis Tax and Government Reporting Prepare, review and post recurring journal entries to the general ledger (e.g. revenue, expenses, accruals). Ensure accuracy in recording financial transactions and events in accordance with IFRS accounting standards. Assist with external and internal audit requirements. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process. Perform ad-hoc analysis and other job-related duties as assigned. Participate in quarterly disclosures. Participate in special projects impacting Accounting. Position Requirements: A bachelor's degree in Accounting Must have a minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting. Preferred: Big 4 CPA. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Strong computer skills for using financial accounting systems, spreadsheets and other software. Able to apply professional skepticism. Strong Analytical skills. Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and maintain confidentiality. Consistent ownership of assigned work. Attention to detail. Able to work in a high paced environment and to adjust to various situations. Communication - Must display strong verbal and written communication skills . Judgment - Exhibit extremely sound judgment in response to sensitive situations or materials. Compensation: The expected base salary ranges from $90-110K, plus discretionary end-of-year bonus and a generous employee benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
