Job Title Sterile Processing Technician - Central Supply - Full Time - Days Category Sterile Processing / Surgical Technicians Organizational Unit ProMedica -> ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital -> Charles & Virginia Hickman Hos -> Central Supply (6252) Location Adrian, MI 49221 US (Primary) Job Description Cleans, disinfects, and processes supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, both sterile and unsterile to ProMedica facilities. ACCOUNTABILITIES *All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise* 1. Decontaminates instruments, supplies and equipment according to established policies and procedures. 2. Maintains adequate supplies and equipment to meet area's needs including inventory control, proper labeling, inspection of linen and labeling of packages. 3. Performs biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards, records information and maintains logs. 4. Sterilizes instruments, equipment and supplies as required; assembles and wraps instrument trays and other supplies; handles and stores instruments, equipment and supplies appropriately. 5. Maintains and updates instrument tray cards specific to surgeon/physician preference, procedure requirements, and individual unit needs. 6. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards. 7. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Skills: Ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Ability to operate diagnositic equipment, input information into computer programs, maintain records and logs, and research information. Must be able to do basic math and have good communication skills. Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to handle crisis or emergency situations. Years of Experience: 6 months experience as a Sterile Processing Tech or certification as a Sterile Processing Tech required. Certification: 6 months experience as a Sterile Processing Tech or certification as a Sterile Processing Tech required.
