Cloud Security Architect

Job Title: Cloud Security Architect Location(s): Gaithersburg, MD Job Description: Looking for a cloud Security architect - deep technical/hands-on in cloud (primarily AWS). Can setup and run POCs, build architecture documents. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in cloud security architecture, with a strong focus on AWS. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification is highly preferred. In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and AWS KMS. Strong experience with AWS security services, such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Macie, WAF, and Shield. Proficient in designing secure IAM policies, VPC configurations, and security groups. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, and security automation tools. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA). Knowledge of encryption standards, data protection, and secure access controls for cloud environments. Scripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation of security tasks and infrastructure management. Strong understanding of network security, firewall management, and secure cloud networking.
