Cloud Data Solution Architect

Job Summary: The Cloud Data Solution Architect is responsible for designing end-to-end cloud data solutions within the MGB cloud data platform. This role requires a deep understanding of the organization's data and analytics landscape, including data sources, assets, platform capabilities, data science tools, and master data. The Cloud Data Solution Architect will lead and collaborate on solution design, data architecture standards, and data security compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and best practices. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Design end-to-end cloud data solutions on the Client cloud data platform, covering data ingestion, curated data models, and data products for business use cases. • Build a comprehensive understanding of the organization's data and analytics landscape, including data sources, curated data assets, platform technologies, and data science capabilities. • Provide technical leadership to development teams by guiding, coaching, and mentoring technical team members. • Develop and revise conceptual, logical, and physical data models following established standards and conventions. • Apply best practices to data architecture standards and conventions and actively update them as needed. • Collaborate with security architects to ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies. • Participate in Cloud platform architectural strategies, including integration with Data Lake and Azure services. • Conduct interviews with business users to gather requirements for enhancements or new data and analytics assets. • Develop and maintain data dictionary definitions, governance practices, and data standards. • Map source system data to curated data models and support data integration processes. • Assist in the development of training and documentation for data assets. • Develop and test data pipelines on the cloud data platform following technical standards. • Present technical solutions to stakeholders and end users, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives. • Uphold Client values in all decisions, actions, and interactions, including patients' needs, affordability, accountability, and inclusivity. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data architecture design, deployment, and data modeling. • Experience with cloud data platforms, such as Snowflake and Azure Synapse. • Proficiency with the Azure stack (e.g., Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure ML, Azure SQL) to build a modern data platform. • Experience with data modeling tools like Erwin or similar for developing and maintaining data models. • Strong data analysis skills for profiling source system data and mapping data to models. • Proficiency in SQL with experience in data modeling and data integration projects. • Experience with agile development for data projects. Preferred Qualifications: • Healthcare industry experience and familiarity with Epic data. • Experience with Tableau reporting tools. • Familiarity with data warehousing architectural approaches and BI tool architectures. • Strong problem-solving skills for developing solutions to meet various business needs. • Ability to communicate effectively with senior business and clinical leaders. • Adept at establishing trusted relationships and collaborating across multifunctional teams. Skills, Abilities, and Competencies: • Understanding of how data supports analytical and operational reporting. • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement. • Excellent consultative skills to translate business needs into technical solutions. • Relational and dimensional data modeling and database design skills. • Ability to construct queries ranging from simple to complex using query tools. • Flexibility, diplomacy, and problem-solving capabilities.
