Sr. Data Scientist PsychoGenics is a preclinical CRO with expertise in central nervous system (CNS) and orphan disorders. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Data Scientist to enhance our drug discovery and development efforts, being responsible for managing cross-functional projects. This role will integrate pharmacology and drug discovery principles to help drive our mission of creating life-saving medicines. The successful candidate will work with software engineers and data scientists to develop, train, validate, and deliver to a production environment advanced machine-learning and analytical tools and technologies to support our preclinical research objectives. Job Responsibilities: Lead teams and manage data-driven projects delivering tools and technologies for drug discovery and development. Design, plan, and build scalable services and specialized systems for machine-learning and other data analytics technologies. Research new algorithms and workflows and implement them as needed to reach company goals. Develop insightful visualizations to communicate data with stakeholders. Work with other departments in the analysis and interpretation of complex data projects. Improve the automation and reliability of PGI's data collection, processing and analysis pipelines to improve efficacy and support continued business decisions. Leverage pharmacology knowledge to inform data analysis and model development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into actionable drug discovery insights. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and advancement in data science and pharmacology. Collaborate in the maintenance and development of PGI's data collection systems, including sensor and processing modules, to improve system performance. Job Qualifications/Skills: Required: Advanced degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Pharmacology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in a data science role, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. Strong experience managing data-focused projects and leading teams. Experience in developing and implementing deep learning and other machine-learning models. Solid understanding of pharmacology and drug discovery processes. Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communcation skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and an ability to deeply understand the "why" and "how" of what we are working on. Excellent programming and software design skills in Python. Experience with Pandas, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, or Matplotlib. Preferred: Experience with Jupiter Notebooks. Experience with Java, CUDA, Cython, Csharp or C++. Industry software development experience building distributed systems, cloud computing systems, or automated data pipelines. Experience with storage and/or database systems. Comfort working on large codebases and software systems. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data storage and analysis and containerized services. Familiarity with rich sensor data (e.g., analog sensors, camera, etc.).
