Loan Administrator -Enrollment Management Group Salary: $16-24 Per Hour Benefits: Generousbenefits include paid time off including holidays and vacation, retirementmatch, and tuition remission for employee and dependents. /benefits Location: Enrollment Management Group Position Status: Full-time Hours: Varied Position Number: 000581/30-433 FLSA Status: Non-exempt POSITIONSUMMARY: This position serves akey role of oversight and administration of all Federal, State, Institutionaland Private Loans, as well as the Federal Pell Grant Program. Duties includeprocessing of all loans and Pell grant awards, including but not limited to awarding,originations, rejects, disbursements and monthly reconciliations. Processingmay include use of EdConnect, Ellucian Banner, Elm Select, COD and any otherrelated systems as needed. This personis responsible for ensuring that funding is disbursed to the university on timeand work collaboratively with student accounts and finance. This person is thesubject matter expert for loan programs within the financial aid office andconsulted for policies and procedures relating to loans. This position alsoincludes other duties as assigned as they relate to ensuring that studentservice and institutional needs are met in a dynamic environment. Serve asPrimary Data Administrator with EdConnect and process the Import and Export ofall EDE files daily. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the subjectmatter expert for all loan programs - internal, federal, and private. Processing of Federal Loans- including but not limited tooriginations, rejects, disbursements, errors and awarding for all Direct LoanPrograms. Processing of all Alternative (Private) Loans, Institutionalor State loans. This may include any grant funded or other loans as determinedby the University. Processing of Federal PellGrants- including but not limited to originations, rejects, disbursements,eligibility, errors and awarding. Responsible for creation andimplementation of a policy and procedure manual and ensuring compliance withinall programs. Uses independent professional judgment within federal, state andinstitutional rules as required. Develops procedures andpolicies for new programs, such as the proposed College of OsteopathicMedicine, and other newly-developed programs for all student levels. Assist with the development of loanopportunities for new Duquesne programs. Monthly Reconciliation ofall Federal Funds as per the Federal Regulations and in accordance withUniversity Policies. Completes other duties asassigned. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: 3-5 years of financial aid experience Preferred qualifications: Proficiency withPC, Microsoft Office tools, email and the Internet with the ability to learn avariety of new technology systems; familiarity with Slate and Banner preferred. Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing: Highly developedinterpersonal, analytic, problem-solving, organizational and communicationskills, including the ability to listen thoughtfully and respectfully to adiverse population of constituents and stakeholders. Strongcommunication skills, both oral and written providing the ability toeffectively communicate with multiple internal and external constituents. Knowledge andunderstanding of federal, states and agency-accrediting rules and regulationsas they pertain to higher education admission. Very strong knowledge of federaland state regulations concerning financial aid, as well as NCAA regulations. Strong functionalknowledge of FAMS system (Banner/Ellucian preferred). Ability to runand design Banner automated processes for Pell and Direct Loan. A broadunderstanding of higher education processes and procedures, including sharedgovernance, strategic planning, resource allocation and budget management. Ensurescompliance with Federal and State laws pertaining to financial aid, affirmativeaction and FERPA. Membershipand active engagement in appropriate national student service organizations,such as NASFAA and PASFA. Sensitivity tothe need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as itrelates to diversity in general and the Mission of the University specifically. Proactive, strategic,analytical and deadline-oriented in a complex organization. Ability andwillingness to work outside of regular business hours and some weekends duringpeak enrollment periods. Ability toprepare and maintain confidential data independently in accordance withestablished policies and procedures and exercise consistent discretion. Considerableknowledge of the laws, regulations and policies governing the operations of theUniversity. Ability to createand maintain complex records and files. Willingness andability to work evenings and weekends as needed during peak enrollment periods.
