The Trust Officer will be responsible for interacting with all clients, whether retained by the Bank for investment asset management or trust administration. Perform and/or assist Trust Officer(s) in the general administration of trust accounts as assigned, and perform duties as directed by the governing document and current pertinent law. RESPONSIBILITIES: Deal directly with trust beneficiaries and agency clients regarding personal financial situation with minimal supervision. Independently prepare for new business meetings with prospective clients and/or assist Relationship Managers (RM), Director (D) and Trust Officers (TO) in preparation for new business meetings with prospective clients. Trust and estate administration, estate planning, creation of business entities, tax planning and complex real estate and securities transactions. Excels in communication with clients, accountants, financial advisors, banking personnel, realtors, appraisers and other attorneys. Preparation of documents and forms including allocation agreements, sales agreements, pleadings, affidavits, deeds, promissory notes and letters of instruction to financial institutions. Excellent with numbers. Facilitates preparation of fiduciary accountings, income tax returns and estate tax returns. Creates and maintains all office forms, templates and office procedures. Trains and supports other paralegals and staff. Investment account management, compliance, administrative reviews, corporate trustee, relationship officer. Trust administration: terminating trusts, discretionary trusts, charitable remainder unitrusts, special needs trusts, irrevocable trusts created for estate tax planning purposes and agency trusts. Acts as Durable Power of Attorney for finances and Successor Trustee. Real property and personal property sales and management. Direct client contacts and community engagement.
