Position Summary: We're excited to announce that we're hiring a full-time Controller for our Manhattan location! As the Controller, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily finance department activities, ensuring reports are accurate and timely, and maintaining accurate internal controls and processes. You'll work closely with our CFO to ensure the financial health of our organization. Job Responsibilities: + Oversee and process our bi-weekly payroll in a timely manner. You will have the opportunity to supervise our contracted payroll processor and assess their performance to ensure we maintain a cost-effective relationship. As the primary contact for all payroll-related matters, you will work closely with our Human Resources team to ensure accurate coding within ADP. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing monthly payroll journal entries, reconciling annual 941's, and distributing staff W-2's and 1095-C's. + Manage general ledger systems (Sage Intacct), maintain financial reports, and ensure timely month-end close. Maintain control of cash positions, oversee vendor payables, and reviewing investment accounts. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial performance indicators and operating budgets. Manage staff accountants and oversee accounts payable and purchasing functions. + In conjunction with National Healthcare Consulting, maintain contracts and grants revenue and receivables roll-forward analysis on a monthly basis. This includes communicating with agency program managers and providing periodic budget monitoring reports. Assist in developing contract and grant budgets, budget modifications, and the finance-related aspects of funder audits and site visits. + Remain abreast of current developments in financial reporting, control structure and environment. Establish protocol for recurring internal control communications, reinforce Finance P & P training to all departments. Keep NHC updated in real time of any financial issues that may arise. Manages staff accountant(s) responsible for accounts payable and purchasing functions, and, in conjunction with National Healthcare Consulting, provide supervision for staff accountant responsible for contracts and grant reporting. + Qualifications: + Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business. + Three (3) years experience in a healthcare setting, including knowledge of grant programs and third-party reimbursement. + Experience working in and managing organizational payroll and accounts payable cycles, including ability to demonstrate hands-on knowledge. + Diverse experience with computer applications, proficient knowledge in general ledger software required. + Excellent written and oral communication skills.
