Overview: Salesforce Architect proactively and holistically leads and supports Salesforce and Marketing Cloud activities that strategically guide business and operating models, people, processes, and technology. The Salesforce architect works closely with IT and business leaders to create alignment between business and IT. The Salesforce architect clarifies strategic intentions, aligns business outcomes, explores implications, impacts, and risks, and addresses stakeholders questions. They design and create deliverables for business leaders that support organizational change toward achieving targeted business outcomes. The Salesforce architect facilitates discussion around the construction of business models, which may include technology, business capabilities, processes, and other key business deliverables. The Salesforce architect helps strategy and business leaders understand, apply, monetize, and operationalize existing, new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business and operating models. Responsibilities: Assesses the disruptive forces impacting the organization and the economic and financial levers that are susceptible within the organization to digital transformation and optimization Serves as a strategic advisor and Salesforce product and platform expert Guide customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies that drive increased business value Details competitive threats and opportunities from digital enterprises that are generally considered outside the traditional realm of competition Analyzes the organization's Salesforce strategy and how the organization currently approaches innovation, streamlining/process improvement, and monetization. In coordination with VP, AVP, and manager drive understanding, adoption, and coordination of next-gen Salesforce technologies across the organization Identify, evaluate, and prioritize business cases for new business opportunities Participates in the ongoing process to identify and prioritize business processes that can be converted to digital to enhance the customer experience and become a trusted partner in the management and delivery of products and services Acts as a subject matter expert on the Salesforce suite of products, supporting technologies, and AppExchange providers along with trends in digital solutions and capabilities Keeps abreast of emerging CRM technologies and evaluates vendor offerings to determine the best fit for business needs Support thought leadership to develop viewpoints on digital trends Recommend innovative and cost-effective solutions Collaborates with the CIO, VP & AVP to create a strategy for the enterprise to promote the use of data, data services, and technology platforms to establish the scalable Salesforce ecosystem In coordination with Sr. Leadership is responsible for end-to-end strategy, design, and implementation of the roadmap for the organizations Salesforce and Marketing Cloud suite of products Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as define the vision and requirements for the solution, recommend potential options, select the most optimal option, and the developing of a roadmap for the selected solution Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership Effectively mentors other Salesforce professionals to solve complex systems and program problems. Handles extensive research, analysis, definition, and documentation on all facets of the job. Identify and lead internal critical initiatives to grow the consulting practice; serving as an active contributor to the Enterpirse's overall knowledge and expertise. Set the strategy for core Salesforce developments in the marketplace and have a strong point of view of opportunity/impact for meeting business goals Implement overarching Salesforce strategy across all customer/producer segments, moving from offline to online Partner with Salesforce Strategy & Operations VP & Marketing AVP Product Owners to manage the project portfolio Connect Salesforce investments to the organizations goals and objectives to achieve positive digital transformation Identifies and translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives Creates the architectural blueprint and establishes best practices that help guide the rest of the technical team on how best to leverage the Salesforce ecosystem Assesses vendors, AppExchange providers, and solutions to determine best-fit for the enterprise Produces technical documents of systems and architectures Performs evaluations of enterprise Salesforce technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to identify opportunities for improvement Participate in applicable governance and project status review meetings Verify systems and practices are compliant with an internal and external specification Reviews the design of potential solutions to identify design risk, component end-of-life measures, and regulatory issues Analyzes the current Salesforce platforms, cloud, and security architecture to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement using digital solutions Creates and deploys procedures for maintenance and timely update of the Salesforce platform components Ensures that solutions comply with the security and quality standards of the enterprise Engage business and process owners and lead the collaborative planning effort to leverage emerging technologies for addressing strategic organization goals Promotes the use of the Salesforce platforms across the enterprise to optimize existing processes and identify new business opportunities Communicate development progress and associated business projects and plans to senior leadership Establish strong working relationships with senior business, operations, and technology leaders in the capacity of a trusted advisor Leverage cross-functional teams to drive digital, product, and consumer strategies Participate in project planning during all phases of the project life cycle as needed Maintain relationships with appropriate technology partners (internal and external) in developing, deploying, and supporting technical solutions Works with multiple stakeholders to optimize Salesforce solutions to meet enterprise requirements Collaborates with multiple stakeholders to integrate Salesforce solutions into existing enterprise tools and systems Provides technical leadership to multiple teams in a consultative/supporting role, or more strategically helping shape the future of technology and innovation within the compan Partner and guide a team of developers and testers through an Agile and DevOps process that includes continuous integration, testing, and delivery. Qualifications: Organizationally savvy - comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic manner Ability to communicate, influence, and persuade both business and IT leaders, as well as peers Uses the language of business leaders and joins the conversation that's taking place Knowledge of existing, new, and emerging Salesforce technologies and ability to practically apply them to new business designs and business models to achieve targeted business outcomes Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects Strong anticipatory, statistical, and information analysis skills (a plus) Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and see how they can support business needs Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence Ability to analyze Salesforce project and product needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems Understands business process management, workflow, and integration methods and tools Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategies Remains unbiased specific technology-and vendor-neutral more interested in results than personal preferences Displays intellectual curiosity and integrity, while respecting freedom and responsibility Motivated by long-term results and achieving targeted business outcomes Highly innovative with an aptitude for foresight, design, and systems thinking Ability to challenge conventional wisdom regarding Salesforce technology refreshes and hype Ability to drive business culture and technology change in a dynamic environment Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level Knowledgeable of project management and organization skills Demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology Knowledge of architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks, and patterns Direct responsibility in one or more of the following areas: business transformation and optimization, strategic planning, and business relationship management Experience facilitating multi-disciplined, high-performance cross-functional teams Experience developing and monitoring the delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems Experience building strategic technology plans and roadmaps Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem, and App Exchange offerings Work Setting: Works in an office setting and remains continuously in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings Performs frequent keyboarding work requiring the ability to make repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers Occasionally moves about to accomplish tasks, particularly moves from one workstation to another Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience Five or more years of business or IT experience with direct responsibility for strategy formulation and/or translation, business analytics, and program management Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required: Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, virtualization, software design, software development, networking, Agile development, SCRUM, application lifecycle management, open source programming languages .Net/C#, Informatica, Sales/Service Cloud, or Financial Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Salesforce's Lightning Component Framework (formerly ), APEX, VisualForce, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, SOQL, and Soap, Rest, Platform Events, Streaming APIs, technical solution architecture, GIT, TFS or equivalent Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, processes, products, and best practice Salesforce Development experience preferred Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.): Salesforce Architect - Preferred Salesforce Administrator - Required Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, and Platform Developer 1 are a plus Marketing Cloud certifications or equivalent experience a plus Position Demands: Extended hours may be required during peak workloads or special projects. Handle problems, calls, etc., off-hours as required either remotely or by returning to work.
