Your impact on the team As a Senior Data Scientist in McGraw Hill, you will join a team of data scientists, AI researchers, software developers, and psychometricians who provide technical and scientific leadership for some of our most important strategic efforts companywide. You will be actively and cross-functionally involved in the entire AI/ML model development lifecycle from design to deployment. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. What you will be doing: Lead data analytics and AI strategy for McGraw Hill's medical education products, delivering performance metrics, actionable insights, and innovative content across digital platforms. Design, develop, validate, operationalize, and monitor AI/ML models for our Professional business unit (focused on medical education) and collaborate closely with colleagues across functions like Product, Engineering, Learning Design, Data & Analytics, and User Experience to help McGraw Hill create and deliver world-class educational experiences, as well as rich product and customer data analytics for internal and external audiences. Collaborate closely with colleagues in Product and Engineering to develop, execute, and report on projects of diverse scope independently, with weekly manager check-ins. Support/guide junior colleagues, including acting as team lead on shared projects. Propose solutions to business problems based on limited information and precedent. Solve problems by adopting, adapting, and/or extending existing DS/AI approaches. Collaborate with colleagues in other functions to support the creation of compelling learning experiences. Learn how to balance multiple projects and revise project plans as circumstances change. We're looking for someone with: Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in AI, Data Science, or related field. 2+ years of applicable experience after doctorate in a related field. Conceptual knowledge of DS/AI through rigorous course work and industry applications. Demonstrated ability to apply DS/AI knowledge to lead projects from start to finish. Production experience with ML, NLP, Deep Learning, and/or LLM systems. Ability to create efficient, scalable Python code. Strong technical communication and collaboration skills. Why work for us? The pay range for this position is between $124,350 - $145,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
