Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Essential Job Functions The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will perform the following: · Support proposal efforts in the estimation, planning, and drafting requirements for the software system(s) development. · Draft and review software requirements from system requirements. · Develop, debug, unit test, and integrate embedded C/C++ code for the real-time control of the LST Software Core · Design and debug a Windows GUI application to monitor, control, and command the LST Software Core running on the embedded device. · Maintain ownership and admin for all software repositories. · Cut and release new versions for the code quarterly. · Architect solutions against requirements and implement those solutions in various FPGA, Processor, and Digital Signal Processor technologies or platforms. · Follow, enforce, and refine consistent firmware / software development processes across the digital designs. · Define and perform prototyping and characterization experiments. · Develop test fixtures and demo systems for lab and customer use cases. Minimum Qualifications · Experience building bare-metal embedded C/C++ software applications. · Familiarity with designing, implementing, and documenting application programming interfaces (APIs). · Experience building customer facing GUI applications. · Working knowledge of Git and repo management. · Experience writing and running unit tests. · Hands-on execution of product integration and verification testing and debug · Experienced with real-time implementations. · BS Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science. · 3+ years of experience. · US Citizenship and the ability to obtain Secret or Top-Secret security clearance is required. Preferred Additional Skills · Familiarity with RTOS and Petalinux is highly desirable. Flexible work from home options available.
