Lab Intern

ROLE We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Intern to support our Shared Lab operations on a part-time basis. This role involves coming in once a week to ensure the functionality and safety of essential laboratory equipment, conduct regular equipment checks, and maintain safety standards by running the eyewash and safety shower. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in lab operations and learn essential laboratory maintenance protocols. It's an ideal role for anyone interested in lab management, lab safety, or research support, providing valuable insights and skills in lab operations and equipment maintenance. This is a part-time position requiring a commitment of approximately 1 day per week, with flexible hours . RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct weekly inspections of laboratory equipment to ensure proper function and report any issues or malfunctions. Run the eyewash station and safety shower for at least one minute to meet safety and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed records of equipment checks and submit reports to lab management as needed. Assist with troubleshooting minor issues with lab equipment and recommend maintenance as necessary. Follow established safety protocols and promote a clean, organized lab environment. Also, includes other duties not otherwise specified. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Familiarity with basic lab equipment and safety protocols. Attention to detail and the ability to identify and report potential issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Previous experience in a lab environment is a plus.
