Accounting & Internal Controls Manager

We have a tremendous opportunity for an Accounting & Internal Controls Manager with our top ranked global firm client. This is a remote role. An undergraduate or Master's Degree and 6+ years of technical or advisory-related experience in controllership, accounting, financial planning and analysis and cost accounting is required. The ideal candidate will also have experience in leading and developing teams. You will be involved in developing data analysis plans, algorithm strategies, and designing/ implementing a variety of solutions that help clients address challenging business issues. You may also be exposed to other disciplines including Accounting Advisory and Profitability & Analytics. What You'll Do: You will analyze, manipulate, and manage data to deliver meaningful insights necessary to help companies of all sizes and across multiple industries address regulatory and business challenges. Sample Manager responsibilities include: Working with clients to understand business challenges and identify solutions to drive desired outcomes Leveraging Accounting Information Science (e.g., data and algorithms) to turn data into trusted business information Querying and analyzing small and large data sets to discover patterns and deliver meaningful insights Creating, managing, and utilizing structured and unstructured data stores Performing current state assessment of client accounting, data, and algorithm capabilities Leveraging tools to enable actionable decision making Developing system requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing with specific focus on SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, and Workday Focus accounting domain areas will include management/ cost accounting, intercompany accounting, consolidations accounting, accrual accounting, predictive accounting, and enterprise data modeling Mapping data flows and to identify optimal design and governance options as well as potential risks Developing business solutions leveraging emerging automation, cognitive, and machine learning tools. What You'll Bring: Required: Undergraduate or master's degree in one of the following majors with relevant business, technology, data and/or analytical focused coursework: Business: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics Technology: Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science Math/Engineering: Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering Strong communication, team building, teaming and presentation experience 6+ years of technical or advisory-related experience in controllership, accounting, financial planning and analysis and cost accounting Prior experience working with and managing data sets, including extraction and merges from source systems, transformation, and application of algorithms (basic to complex) Experience in leading and developing teams Experience in building finance and accounting models and using purpose-built solutions Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/ assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Ability to travel 80%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve Limited visa sponsorship may be available Preferred: Master's degree in Business, Technology or Math/Engineering Experience with packaged technologies (e.g., S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, Workday, BlackLine, Workiva) Project experience in areas such as process mapping, root cause/ gap analysis/ best fit, requirements gathering/ definition development, financial modeling and value mapping Experience in developing product costing standards and product cost analytics Experience with a variety of data transformation and algorithmic tools and programming languages such as, but not limited to: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo Db CostPerform, Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM), SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Anaplan Languages (e.g., SQL, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, C#, C++, VBA, , , HTML, SAS) Reporting Tools (e.g., Business Objects, Reporting Services) Big Data Tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Impala, Mahout) Machine Learning/Cognitive (e.g., Python, Mahout, CognitiveScale) Predictive Analytics/Data Mining: (e.g., IBM SPSS, SAS Enterprise Miner, RPL, Python, Matlab) Data Visualization Tools (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Power Bi) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills High energy, result driven person Ability to energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people Strong commitment to the customer Ability to multi-task and ensure timely deliverables
