Senior Auditor Hauppauge, NY On-site Position Overview Be a part of an accounting firm that primarily provides audit and reporting services to governmental units and nonprofit organizations, which form the core of its assurance and attest services. As the Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for leading audit engagements, ensure compliance with applicable standards, and provide valuable insights to our clients. Responsibilities Lead and manage financial statement audits for nonprofit and government clients Assess internal controls, identify weaknesses, and provide recommendations for improvements Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, such as GAAP and GASB Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and deliver customized audit solutions Train and mentor junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and changes in accounting standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2+ years of auditing experience, with a focus on nonprofit or governmental accounting preferred CPA certification is preferred but not required In-depth knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and auditing standards Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with clients and team members Ability to manage multiple audit engagements while meeting deadlines Proficiency in auditing software Compensation Salary: $70,000-$90,000 Retirement savings plan with employee matching (The firm will match employees 3% if they contribute 3%, 3.5% if they contribute 4%, and 4% if they contribute 5%.)
