Description Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Machine Learning Engineer located at Wright Patterson AFB, supporting the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). Why Work with us? Responsibilities include: Work independently and with personnel to perform, interpret, and explain programming support, data analysis, data extrapolation, data visualization, apply machine learning (ML) approaches, and serve as a technical authority and consultant for existing and new research projects Direct the design and construction of data sets from structured and unstructured data to enable analytical solutions Create and provide feedback on ML studies by identifying assumptions, measuring effectiveness, and striving for explainability Perform duties by utilizing available resources including but not limited to academic journals, scholarly articles, and the Internet. Assist with proposal writing as needed. Document and present results to technical and non-technical audiences as appropriate Work with multi-disciplinary groups to assist in additional programming tasks Set well-defined and realistic goals. Display a high level of initiative and effort towards completing assignments in a timely manner. Work with minimal supervision and act responsibly Efficiently manage and maintain large data sets Position may require occasional travel to and collaboration with laboratories or other research-related locations Other duties as assigned Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements: Must be a US Citizen Ability to obtain a Secret clearance Strong Python abilities 2-3 years of experience with programming languages 1-2 years of experience with machine learning implementation and analysis (i.e. artificial intelligence, ML, data mining, deep learning, distributed computing, optimal heuristic search, stochastic modeling, probability modeling, data analytics) Ability to independently program and debug codes Strong communication abilities Ability to work independently 1-2 years of experience solving research related challenges and implementing solutions Desirable experience with: text analysis and natural language processing integrating software and mechanical systems programming Raspberry Pi systems utilizing structured or unstructured data for exploratory data analysis, classification, regression, and/or other types of statistical analysis using data visualization (e.g., scripts, algorithms, predictive models, etc.) for exploratory comparative analysis utilizing visualization tools. working with teams with remote sensing All positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations.
