Job Title: Insurance Defense Paralegal Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid - 3 days on-site) Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 About Us: Join our dynamic corporate law firm in Philadelphia, where we specialize in insurance defense. Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will support our attorneys in managing insurance defense cases, ensuring that all aspects of case preparation and documentation are handled efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities: Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing all aspects of insurance defense cases, including organizing and updating case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining calendars for hearings and filings. Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law related to insurance defense, providing summaries to attorneys to inform case strategies. Document Preparation: Draft and edit various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production), and settlement agreements, ensuring compliance with court rules. Discovery Coordination: Manage the discovery process by preparing and responding to requests, organizing and indexing documents, and coordinating document productions with clients and third parties. Trial Preparation: Compile and prepare trial binders, witness lists, and exhibit lists, and assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, and trials. Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed about case developments and gathering necessary information and documentation. E-Discovery Management: Utilize e-discovery tools and software to assist in the collection, review, and production of electronic documents. Filing and Court Procedures: File legal documents with appropriate courts electronically or in person, ensuring adherence to filing deadlines and procedural requirements. Maintain Legal Calendars: Regularly update and manage attorney calendars for court dates, deadlines, and meetings, sending reminders as necessary. Billing and Timekeeping: Track billable hours accurately and assist in preparing invoices for clients, ensuring compliance with the firm's billing policies. Continual Learning: Stay current on changes in insurance defense laws, regulations, and best practices through ongoing professional development and training. Qualifications: Paralegal certification or degree in paralegal studies or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense . Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
