What we need Symbotic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Systems Manager team that will be responsible for the induction of products into the Symbotic system and order fulfillment out to customers. As a key member of the team, you will play a hands-on role developing new functionality within a microservices environment and contribute toward the decomposition of monolithic services into microservices. What we do We are a talented and collaborative team of engineers responsible for building multiple components and microservices that are included in Symbotic's ecosystem. We are part of Core Software and some of the functional areas we cover include freight inbounding, customer order planning, SKU services, software updates and more. We are self-driven software engineers who thrive in a creative, collaborative, and agile development environment with a passion for implementing excellent customer experience. What you'll do Design and develop real-time distributed software to orchestrate the induction of new inventory and order fulfillment to customers. Evolve the current software architecture toward microservices using .NET Core, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ and Redis. Contribute to a distributed architecture using multi-threaded and multi-processor concepts. Play a hands-on role as part of an engineering team that works to design, develop, review and test new functionality. Collaborate with other development teams, project managers and product managers to breakdown requirements, design solutions and execute new business requirements. Demonstrate passion about building high quality software that addresses customer needs, love solving problems and facing new challenges. Be a proactive communicator who enjoys working closely with creative and technical peers. Work in a dynamic Agile/Scrum based environment. Play a lead role in this effort and mentor junior team members. Up to 10% travel may be required. What you'll need Degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or related experience. Minimum 8 years professional experience developing software applications. 3+ years of experience with data/SQL platforms including traditional relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL). Object oriented design and programing concepts, C# or Java is preferred. Source code version control, unit testing, design and defect tracking tools. Experience with multi-threading, multiprocessing, and SW/HW integration. Self-motivated, with an ability to learn quickly and independently, and work in a dynamic agile environment with cross functional and remote teams. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Other considerations Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
