Position Summary As a Content Strategist for the Organic Social Media Team at Pinkston, you will lead the development and execution of organic social media strategies, working closely with PR teams to craft comprehensive content plans that align with client goals. You will oversee content creators, providing strategic direction to ensure all content aligns with client objectives and industry best practices. In this role, you will also serve as a key point of contact for clients, representing the organic social media team during calls and meetings. Additionally, you will play a hands-on role in creating compelling written, visual, and multimedia content, ensuring high-quality, innovative posts that captivate audiences and drive engagement. Collaborating across teams, you will design data-driven strategies that foster creativity, elevate brand presence, and boost audience growth on multiple platforms. Your ability to interpret data and craft actionable insights will be essential in telling the story behind the numbers, enabling continuous improvement and measurable success for your clients. Additional Details Status: Full-time Work Location: Falls Church, Virginia Travel: On an as-needed basis Role Responsibilities Strategy Development: Lead the development of organic content strategies for social media that support clients' brand objectives, marketing goals, and PR initiatives. Collaborate with PR teams, content creators, and clients to ensure content plans are effective, innovative, and aligned with client messaging. Analyze trends, audience insights, and platform updates to craft social media strategies that resonate with target audiences. Content Oversight and Execution: Supervise and execute the content creation process for your assigned clients, ensuring all assets not only meet brand standards but also resonate with the target audience. You will actively contribute by creating written, visual, and multimedia content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, TikTok, and others. Provide guidance and feedback to Content Creators to ensure quality, engagement, and alignment with broader strategies. Collaborate with and advise PR teams on developing and maintaining a content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of content that aligns with the clients' events, campaigns, and announcements. Collaborate with and advise PR teams on scheduling and publishing content across various social media platforms using social media management tools. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Review and assess the effectiveness of content strategies through regular analysis of social media metrics and performance data. Utilize social media tools to generate reports, presenting actionable insights to optimize future content. Identify key performance drivers and areas for improvement, making data-informed recommendations. Collaboration and Innovation: Foster close collaboration across PR teams and social media teams to create innovative content ideas that push creative boundaries. Stay updated on emerging social media technologies, trends, and platform changes, ensuring Pinkston's strategies remain competitive and cutting-edge Requirements Skills & Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in content creation and social media strategy, preferably within an agency or public relations environment. Proven client management experience. Proven experience leading successful social media campaigns across multiple platforms. Proficiency in using social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics software. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into effective strategy changes. Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for grammar, spelling, and storytelling. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience mentoring or managing junior content creators. Strong eye for design and experience in creating visual content using graphic design tools. Creative thinking and the ability to generate fresh and innovative content ideas. Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines effectively. Preferred: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar content creation tools. Experience with social media management platforms like Sprout Social. Experience in video and photo editing. Familiarity with PR and broader marketing strategies. Familiarity with executing boosted posts and digital ads on social media.
