About the job Director of Accounting - Corporate, Cost / Distribution Top Retail company headquartered MetroWest is hiring for a Director of Accounting - Corporate, Cost / Distribution. This role will oversee both the Corporate Accounting function (month-end close, financial statement preparation, financial reporting), as well as the Cost Accounting / Inventory function (COGS, coordination with PMs, vendor management, procurement). This is a great role for somebody looking to step into a leadership / #1 Accounting position. The role will oversee a team of 5-10 direct / indirect reports. Compensation / Benefits: Strong base pay + very strong annual bonus Health / Dental / Vision / 401k Opportunity for growth / promotion, with a trajectory to the executive team Responsibilities: Financial leadership for monthly/quarterly close and reporting, coordination of regional reporting, and timely preparation of management reports Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies Direct financial and cost accounting support for entire facility Serve as liaison for Division finance functions/needs and administer finance policies Direct financial and cost accounting support for entire facility Inventory control and providing support for physical inventories and perpetual transactions Prepare and analyze weekly KPI metrics scorecard, including validation and reconciliation of variances to standards, budgets and forecasts Investigate complex information reported in the internal financial statements and other periodic financial reports Communicate key drivers in regards to the full financial profit and loss statement (sales, customer drivers, adjustments, etc) Evaluating and then executing new legal entities (together with business partners), working with local auditors, complying with local accounting rules and regulations Creating and/or updating processes and policies Requirements: 10+ years of relevant experience Cost / Manufacturing / Tangible-product environment experience highly preferred CPA preferred, but not required Leadership / Management experience or ability to lead is required Communication & Business Partnering skills Experience leading an ERP implementation highly preferred Interest in growing / developing long-term with the organization
