As a summer associate, you will develop models and successfully mine, analyze, and interpret data while working under limited supervision. You will solve strategic, tactical, structured, and unstructured business problems. You will communicate outcomes and recommendations to a wide range of business partners. As a Data Science Summer Associate, you will perform one or more of the following tasks: Performing data manipulation and analytics to identify and respond to business problems in collaboration with business functions and more senior members of the team. Implement and monitor processes to measure the effectiveness and stability of models. Perform a variety of analyses, may use industry publications, industry databases and internal resources to complete research. Ensure understanding of all relevant data and business areas. Analyze external and internal trends that impact business or system performance and recommend ways to improve outcomes. Develop and recommend process improvements that enhance service levels. Using analytical models to solve structured and unstructured business problems (develop skills and become proficient in at least one type of model). Participate in discussions with business partners to acquire information for developing analyses and forecasts. Select and incorporate appropriate data mining and analysis techniques to solve specific problems. Interpreting analyses and presenting findings to team leadership and business partners. Make recommendations based on detailed analysis with an understanding of critical assumptions and connectivity to business priorities. Identifying issues and/or anomalous behaviors. Proactively identify behavior and trends that could be indicative of risk then collaborates on the development of models to understand and detect risk patterns Facilitating and contributing to the development of data science processes as the team expands. Continues to develop cutting edge knowledge of data science techniques and practices. Communicating trends, metrics, and actionable recommendations in verbal briefs, dashboards and reports to a wide-ranging business audience. Assist in the collection of metrics and reporting for communication to leadership. "I am the person Capital Group is looking for." You are a current student pursuing a MBA or master's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields. You have an anticipated Spring 2026 graduation date and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above You have 0 - 2 years of experience working in analytics and data science or machine learning You have proficiency in data visualization tools and analysis tools You have knowledge of predictive modeling, machine learning, or data mining You have experience wrangling unstructured data You are highly motivated and maintain composure You have a proven track record or demonstrable agility in providing value, gained through data science, to a large organization using complex datasets. You have knowledge of three or more of the following: SQL; R or Python; Qlikview, D3, Splunk, Spark, Cloudera Hadoop Distribution, Kafka, Scala, and/or Tableau Coding experience is preferred
