Job Description The Department Invesco Mortgage Capital, Inc. is a publicly held mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) that trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: IVR). The Company is primarily focused on investing in, financing and managing mortgage-backed securities and other mortgage-related assets. IVR is externally managed by Invesco Advisors. Your Role This position reports to IVR's Controller and is responsible for oversight of the financial reporting and operational finance functions of IVR working alongside the Chief Accounting Officer, Controller and other accounting resources. You Will Be Responsible For: Drafting quarterly and annual reports on Forms 10-Q/K, as well as Form 8-K's and press releases, and managing the internal and external review of these documents Maintaining the SEC reporting calendar for the REIT and scheduling disclosure review committee meetings Assisting the Controller with planning, organizing, and execution of SOX controls and the related implementation and testing, including coordination and communication with internal and external auditors Coordination of investment accounting services and review of outputs from third-party service provider in accordance with service level agreement Overseeing the Senior Accountant and performing higher level risk-based reviews of financial statements and related processes on a monthly basis Coordinating with external auditors on reviews and annual audits and managing communications regarding financial reporting and accounting matters to ensure auditor agreement with company accounting policy decisions and accounting disclosures Assisting the Controller with researching, developing and implementing policies and procedures, as appropriate, including U.S. GAAP, non-GAAP and applicable operational policies Preparation of U.S. GAAP disclosure checklists Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the investment management team, legal and compliance, as well as with other business disciplines Proactively adding value through continuous process improvement Other duties as assigned The Experience You Bring: Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting/finance 6+ years accounting experience Big 4/public accounting background preferred, Manager level or higher CPA certification is strongly preferred SEC reporting experience required; Workiva experience is preferred Supervisory experience is preferred Strong technical accounting knowledge Excellent oral and written communication skills Full Time / Part Time Full time Worker Type Employee Job Exempt (Yes / No) Yes Workplace Model At Invesco, our workplace model supports our culture and meets the needs of our clients while providing flexibility our employees value.
