This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Berkeley Research Group / / Summary BRG is actively seeking a full-time Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will work with stakeholders within BRGs Corporate Departments (Finance, Human resources, Accounting, Payroll, and Legal) to define business requirements, pain points, and opportunities for automation. This role will be primarily responsible for programming automated solutions in a variety of frameworks to streamline business processes.The Software Engineer will be part of the IT department and report to BRGs Software Engineering Manager. Candidates wishing to be based in a BRG office will benefit by working from Emeryville, Chicago, Dallas or Washington, DC. BRG also welcomes candidates who wish to work remotely. Responsibilities Meet regularly with business users and stakeholders; assist with requirements and scope gathering for business problems that will benefit from automation. Design and build new applications, scripts, reports, and other automated processes. Maintain, troubleshoot, and support existing code base and solutions. Create and maintain documentation of apps, integrations, scripts and other automation elements. Participate in IT change management processes. Ensure data and application security at all layers. Qualifications Bachelor/'s degree with 5+ years overall business experience. Direct, hands-on experience building applications in a Microsoft .NET Environment (C#, Powershell, etc). Experience with Angular.JS, javascript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies. Experience working with APIs, SOAP, REST, JSON, XML, and related integration technologies, including creating APIs from scratch. Experience writing complex SQL server queries and stored procedures. Experience building SQL Reports or PowerBI Dashboards. Some experience building scripts in non-Microsoft technologies (e.g., python, perl, java). Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. Quick and able learner; can adjust to shifting priorities, projects, and roles. Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems, and work in a team environment.
