Enterprise Data Architect Chicago, IL, USWashington DC, DC, USDallas, TX, USAtlanta, GA, US Oct 9, 2024 Dentons US LLP is currently looking for an Enterprise Data Architect. This position will lead larger projects related to technology refreshes, cloud migrations and acquisition integrations. The ideal candidate will possess a broad based understanding of disaster recovery, networking, database technologies and have experience in designing highly available Infrastructure services. Expertise in Azure's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings, along with the ability to implement and maintain these systems. The role involves interacting with executives to translate business needs into cloud solutions, and managing projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities Design, implement, and optimize scalable and secure data architectures using Azure cloud services, including Data Lakes, Microsoft Fabric, Managed SQL Services, and SQL database architecture. Design, configure, and manage Azure cloud environments, considering aspects such as scalability, performance, reliability, and security. Leverage Azure PaaS offerings such as Azure Web Apps, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions to build scalable and maintainable cloud-native applications. Employ Azure IaaS components, including virtual machines, virtual networks, and blob storage, ensuring optimal configuration and security. Lead data warehousing initiatives, ensuring the integration of structured and unstructured data in alignment with business needs. Drive the strategic direction of the firm's data architecture, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. Manage and optimize Azure data platforms, including Data Lakes, ensuring efficient data flow, integration, and performance across systems. Configure and manage Power Platform solutions for both structured and unstructured data, following best practices. Develop and enforce robust operational practices that ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with legal industry regulations. Establish and maintain data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy across all platforms. Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of data solutions, serving as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment. Oversee project documentation, managing timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Implement best practices for data and database management, including backup and disaster recovery strategies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by staying informed about emerging technologies and trends in database management, data lakes, and cloud platforms. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges, contributing to a collaborative and innovative team environment. Collect, document, and analyze business requirements to design scalable and robust data solutions aligned with business goals and compliance requirements. Other duties as needed to meet the requirements of the role. Experience & Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Experience working with data in the cloud, with a focus on Azure-related data platforms and cloud services. Certifications in DP-203 - Microsoft Azure Data Engineer and DP-300 - Database Administration are preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design scalable and robust data solutions. Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive consensus on technical solutions. Ability to collect and document requirements, translating them into actionable technical solutions. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and teamwork. Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a high-pressure environment. Salary Washington DC Only DOE: $145,000 - $165,000 Dentons US LLP offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
