Job Title: Software Engineer Location: Redmond, WA Duration: 6 Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: Onsite Pay rate: $60 Per HR Job Description: The Delivery experience Prime Eligibility team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who will act as first level support and development for all incoming production software application issues dealing with seller prime eligibility. Your solutions will impact our customers directly Primary responsibilities include developing monitoring solutions, troubleshooting/debugging and implementing the fix for internally developed code (Scala, JAVA), performing SQL queries, improving our systems that gather metrics on our features, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges. Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate is interested in a career in software development and is looking to utilize and expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications. They must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. Preferred coding skills: Perl, C/C++ and/or Java. Other desired technical skills include Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/LINUX. A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and more than 5 years of relevant experience is required. Story Behind the Need Business Group & Key Projects: Key Projects: Prime eligibility team maintain prime eligibility status of sellers Working closely for EU market base. Launch US market next year, possibly Canada too Contractors would be assigned to bucket of general operational excellence. Testing, performance implements for the platform. The team has identified a list of backlog items for contractors to work on that is closely related to setting up testing framework and working on performance implements for the platform. Typical Day in the Role: Day to day: Daily stand starts at 10:30am Two-week sprint Will be assigned tasks to perform for two weeks Should be able to complete and make meaningful progress Should be able to own entire competency individually Interaction level with members: Bi weekly sprint planning Core hours (twice every week) Get value from the team regarding code, design, etc. Daily Sync Compelling Story & Candidate Value Proposition: Role Interesting: Able to see impact that is being made Starting this from scratch (testing framework doesn't exist) Able to get a feel of client culture in terms of coding Able to learn new AWS technologies
