Description We are looking for an engineer or scientist to design and set up complex hardware in the loop (HWIL or HIL) systems to test critical weapon systems. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with HWIL systems, expertise in electrical interfaces and software, and the ability to program in C++. You will be joining a team that designs, builds, and runs HWIL systems around operational optical systems. We have experienced staff to mentor new team members and are also seeking experienced staff who can mentor others. Your primary responsibility will be building and running HWIL setups around unique weapon systems. You will program in C++ and understand latency, thread safety, and data interfaces. Work with embedded hardware systems and sensors, including understanding electrical interfaces and communication protocols. Document code, network systems, and communicate status and needs across the team. Qualifications Possess a BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar field. Have 2+ years of experience working with HWIL, embedded systems, or C++ 6-DOF simulations. Skilled in software programming and highly multi-threaded systems. Deep understanding of electrical signals and embedded systems communication. Eligible for obtaining a Secret level security clearance. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you... Have significant experience designing and setting up HWIL test beds. Have experience designing high fidelity software simulations for flying platforms. Familiar with weapon systems such as missiles, seekers, and naval platforms. Familiar with CUDA, FPGAs, networking protocols, Python, Matlab, or Simulink.
