Fitter/Systems Assembler - Fab Shop BUSINESS: Industrial LOCATION: Monroe, NC DIRECT REPORTING: Production Supervisor FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Manufacturing POSITION DETAILS Position Summary To facilitate welding/fabrication workflow and completing the Zenith Systems & Systems Group Skid assembly. Principal Activities Completes all shaft-to-shaft alignments within .002 TIR Completes all Zenith systems assembly. Completes all Systems Group Skid assembly. Serve as a technical resource for safety on rigging & lifting. Bends, installs & test mechanical tubing. Sandblasting, layout, burning, machining prep, & fit-up. Set up and use a variety of precision measuring instruments to maintain dimensions and tolerances as required. Communicate frequently and effectively to associates throughout the organization, including team members, engineers, schedulers, and upper management. Perform the above duties without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs only. Consistently produce work of proper quality and of properly required quantity. Learn programming aspects of the plasma cutter. Other duties as assigned by management. Job Requirements: CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Knowledge Skills & Abilities Be able to follow verbal and written instructions; read and work to drawings, setup cards, charts and tables with or without job tag instructions. Proficient working knowledge of IFS. Ability to work with Word and Microsoft Excel Basic understanding and knowledge of CADD, as a minimum be able to create and dimension a 2D drawing. Use of mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables; various types of precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Impeccable integrity; Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The associate may, on rare occasions lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 5 years of experience in fabrication or related manufacturing experience.
