The facility (the "KOREPlex") will operate with net-zero carbon emissions through strategic partnerships and solar and storage co-generation. WHAT YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE TO KORE... KORE Power, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own all aspects of electrical design within KORE's existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to have a large degree of autonomy and will be required to plan work and meet schedules, providing frequent and effective communication to stakeholders. Working within a small team and a structured product development process, cross-functional collaboration will be critically important (and actively encouraged). ESSENTIAL FUNNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical design of products, and/or systems for industrial, utility, and commercial markets Research and select components to meet design requirements Review and collaborate to finalize market requirements for new products Establish product requirements to meet market requirements Establish design verification and validation plans. Prepare product documentation, application notes and design guides to provide customers with an industry leading experience when utilizing Kore Power products. Support the transition of new products to production including the development of basic assembly & test procedures. Provide SME advice to QA to support effective and efficient QC processes Estimation of future design schedules and resource requirements Regular reporting of design progress Perform a wide range of engineering tasks utilizing state-of-the-art design software and techniques Ensure compliance of products with applicable industry standards, including market and region-specific standards Create engineering design reports and conduct engineering design reviews Participate in customer feedback and market reviews to conceptualize and evaluate new market/product opportunities QUALIFICATIONS The candidate should be an experienced electrical engineer with proven technical skills. The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Understanding of renewable energy, including AC and DC electricity. Understanding of battery chemistry, including charging and discharging scenarios, as well as C factor. Familiarity with 3-phase power systems, and low and medium voltage design concepts with an emphasis on electrical distribution and cable sizing/selection. Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC). Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers, SEL RTACs and protective relays, and power system controls products and configuration/programming concepts. Familiarity with OSHA and/or utility safety culture desired, safety minded. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, or schematics, or the ability to learn. Ability to read and interpret industry standards and codes such as NFPA 855 and UL 9540. Familiarity with office productivity software, including MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Familiarity with design software tools such as SolidWorks Electrical, Draft-Site (2-D cad), SKM/PTW, Python, Matlab or similar, is preferred. PE license or ability to pursue licensure is desired but not required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without corrective lenses or an assistive device. Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies. The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal. Some lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 25 lbs. of force may be required. Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork. WORK ENVIRONMENT The job is performed indoors in a traditional production setting.
