Job Description We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Dearborn, MI. You will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools Option of a 4 day / 10 hour shift (9am-7pm ) or a 5 day / 8 hour shift ( 11am-7pm ) Responsibilities In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: (Advanced): Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools Larger more complicated engine rebuilds Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Perform repairs to Diesel Engines Perform repairs to OEM side of vehicles such as brakes, suspension and lighting repairs. Must have complete understanding and experience performing in depth internal engine repairs. Trouble shooting experience preferred but not required. Overhaul Experience Required Qualifications This position will be part of the FTA pool. This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
