Role reports to: VP, Cloud and Infrastructure Location: New Jersey or Remote Travel %: Pay: $182,000 -$247,000 What you will do The Director, Infrastructure as a Service Engineering is responsible for serving as a thought leader in infrastructure platform engineering, leading or sponsoring highly visible, complex projects, and making decisions regarding resource alignment, and will play a pivotal role in providing a future ready infrastructure as a service solution across technology and data for all applications hosted in our on-premise (private cloud) data center, manufacturing (edge) sites, and regional co-lo data centers.As the Director, you will contribute to the strategic planning of modern infrastructure engineering solutions that is being delivered at scale in an agile way of working, while also meeting long-term transformation objectives that helps to innovate, transform, while reducing our cost to serve. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of innovative Infrastructure as a Service solutions align to Kenvue Tech and Data objectives, and key results (OKR's). Contribute to the overall tech transformation by deploying end-to-end infrastructure as a service solution that solve unmet needs and generate value through a fully integrated digital ecosystem. Help to sunset legacy, high-cost technology by replacing with modern low-cost "open-source" options where possible Manage a globally diverse team of senior managers and engineers, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and leading their development and transition through our tech transformation Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Cyber, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Quality and other stakeholders to identify, design and deliver secure, modern, innovative, and reliable infrastructure as a service capabilities. Engage with infrastructure and cloud product managers to establish prioritized roadmap and backlog of capabilities to be built, demo, and delivered to our stakeholders on a sprint calendar cadence. Develop and maintain an infrastructure as a service roadmap that reinforces self-service, AIOps, and built-in observability, and that aligns with the Technology Services' strategic objectives. Leverage advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and other modern tech to improve productivity and self-service, improve uptime & SLO, and prevent & predict service level (SLA) breaches. Ensure the infrastructure services meet the highest standards of performance, security, and availability. Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Infrastructure as a Service and apply them to improve the services. Be a trusted partner as well as an internal consultant (thought-leader) influencing decision making and pro-actively developing solutions to meet un-met business needs; use actionable insights to drive end to end Tech and Data business KPIs. Support daily or weekly Infrastructure site reliability engineering (SRE) stand up and act as the lead, expert, for problem solving, and innovation that continues to transform teams from a traditional operations mindset (ITIL) toward an SRE mindset. Define and align dashboards and scorecard to provide transparency and visibility and help drive agile, and SRE across functions internally and externally to obtain alignment. Lead and ensure budgets for hardware, software maintenance, as well as contractor and manage service (MSA) vendor contracts are meeting transformation savings objectives. Contribute to the strategic planning process and long-term direction for a modern infrastructure as a service (hybrid-cloud) organization. Apply compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provide documentation as necessary (preferably leveraging compliance as code practices), and participate in compliance activities as required. What we are looking for Required Qualifications 10-12 years of experience in Infra as a Service engineering or related field w/ strong design & operate Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven track record of designing and delivering highly scalable and reliable infrastructure services. Strong domain technical acumen across traditional enterprise operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows), enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL, Postgres), virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Open-Stack, Ku-Virt), backup & disaster recovery technology, process, and tools and data center engineering concepts Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure (Azure Stack), GCP, or Kubernetes - a plus. Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Java, etc Experience with Agile framework such as Scrum, Kanban, and DevSecOps delivery. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong understanding of business financial principles Desired Qualifications Superior knowledge of the competitive environment as well as industry trends and specific customer business Advanced expertise in multiple technologies, including leading edge technologies Technical knowledge from external sources and the ability to incorporate those ideas into I/T Understanding of key organizational strategies, and the ability to factor this knowledge into planning for the future of the infrastructure Advanced understanding of multiple business area(s) and sectors Ability to address complex problems with broad implications for I/T architecture, balancing the often competing needs of standardization and innovation Ability to make decisions regarding resource alignment/dedication and prioritization (people resources, dollars/funding, project criticality) and communicate rationale back to the business Ability to create effective executive ready presentations, and actionable insights, that simplify complex technical with business-friendly impact, risks, and value realization Demonstrated leadership experience across a large global team with knowledge of local work regulations - a plus. Previous engagement and knowledge of working in regulated environments (e.g., GxP, SOX, PII) and demonstrate capabilities in these areas, including familiarity with external auditors - a plus What's in it for you Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $182,000 -$247,000.This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
