RESPONSIBILITIES Performs histological procedures including embedding, cutting, and staining surgical, biopsy and anatomical tissues for light and fluorescent microscopic slide review. Recognizes deviation from expected results and refers them to designated supervisory personnel to prevent the release of inappropriate data. Analyzes and corrects problems within established periods to expedite diagnosis. 40-50 Blocks should be embedded and at least 30 blocks cut per hour, which includes a combination of biopsies, Fatty tissue cases and routines. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Associatersquo;s degree in related life science or applied science field OR HEW/HHS or HT(ASCP) certification with laboratory experience in lieu of a degree. Bachelorrsquo;s degree in Histology, related life science or applied science field. HT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred. 1 year experience and/or training in a laboratory setting Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
